Re: CoQ10 Help and B15 connection?
Hi Grace2M
I think you are doing the right thing in researching online. And yes, you are correct in having doubts about words from people selling CoQ10 products. I think you will get some interesting information from the website q10facts - I thought that was an interesting compilation of information/research and good resource in general. I find it interesting that oxidation and receiving an electron cycles CoQ10 between ubiquinol and ubiquinone. Therefore, ubiquinol is the strong antioxidant and ubiquinone is part of the energy creation process. However, ubiquinol is so unstable and will most likely be mostly transformed to ubiquinone by the time it's absorbed in your intestines. If CoQ10 naturally cycles between the two forms of ubiquinol and ubiquinone inside your body, should it really matter that much which form you take? And if companies aren't using special production technology to protect the unstable ubiquinol before it is absorbed, then you are technically paying for ubiquinol but ingesting ubiquinone?
Much of the research on ubiquinol has been in labs or tested on animals - not in human subjects.
My mom has avidly taken CoQ10 for many years. She got me interested in the product and I now take it myself every day. After all the research I have read through and all I have learned, I have recommended my mom to take ubiquinone - keep in mind that she used to swear by ubiquinol. She feels the same effect from ubiquinone as she has from ubiquinol. However, please keep in mind that when selecting a product, select one that is suspended in oil as CoQ10 is fatsoluble. Tablets and powder are very difficult to absorb. Other than that it is important to look at really high manufacturing standards to get a safe product and ideally one that has been tested in clinical trials with human subjects.
Interesting post. Hope you have found what you were looking for in your quest for improved health and wellbeing.
