This is really made complicated by doctors on purpose. They want you to be confused and dependent on them for their drugs.
In fact, the thyroid is very simple. It is our furnace to control body temperature. Hypothyroid means that our furnace is broken and body temp is running lower than normal. This results in cold hands, cold feet and a low metabolism. Other symptoms include weight gain, listless and much more.
Hyperthyroid means our furnace is running too hot and our body temp is running higher than normal. This results in feeling hot, excessive sweating, hyper active, and many other symptoms.
