I have to disagree with this research finding. I have had allergies all my life right along with a severe hook worm infection.

My theory is that allergies are an autoimmune response due to deficient nutrition. The introduction of the parasites ...The parasites hi-jack the immune response and turn it off or try to turn it off to protect themselves. Over time the body gets sicker and more depleted and eventually the parasites can no longer turn off the immune response. Histamine levels go off the chart and even more parasites take up residence. So in addition to a severe parasite infection you are destined to get Mast Cell disease.

The study focuses on the proximate effect not the true and long term effect.

Better nutrition and an understanding of food allergies is really the key. Along with preventing contamination from lead, mercury, cadmium, etc.

Just my opinion, of-course. I have been suffering and trying to figure it out all my life. Only when I am very careful to eat and live clean do I feel at least partly normal.

And, many dogs and cats would be pissed off at this study because many pets die from Hook Worm.
If it kills them it will kill you.
