Re: Long-Time Iodine User with New Abnormal Labs...Need Advice
I have always gone by the saying if it isn't broken don't fix it.
The thyroid industry is a weird thing, I don't know but it just appears far fetched that people can get permanently sick from the higher metabolism that comes with hyperthyroidism. Now I believe thyroid storm is dangerous, but it is rare and I don't know if that is the end result of 'thyroid disease'.
Anyhow from my research on here, it appears
Iodine causes temporary changes in thyroid from time to time and it usually resets to baseline again after these periodic adjustments of metabolism.
I think that since you don't have overt symptoms you're lucky, but my symptoms have been noticeable and as I type this I still notice an on and off slight burning in the side of my throat. On and off kidney pain, periodic palpitations, loss of weight, emotional detox, etc...I stopped taking high doses of
Iodine in mid August, so its been 3 months with these symptoms. They are slowly improving, and if it weren't for the loss of weight and healing of food addictions I would have been discouraged at my progress with Iodine.
