In my experience, FIFO is when there is no problematic and sticky food in any of the meals. I can testify that FIFO is a rule, but when I eat at my family's place the rule starts failing. Then I understand some magnesium can be helpful, or a sort of dieters's tee. Or the Watermelon trick.
