Re: Cipro - is a FLORO-quionolone (winkwink, nudgenudge.)
Iodine taken without adequate selenium puts the thyroid into a destructive cycle, that is correct.
Iodine allows the thyroid to create hydrochloric acid (an element used to destroy infectious agents present in the bloodstream on the way to the blood), and selenium halts the process of creating the HCL. (HCL :: hydrochloric acid)
Both
SSKI and
Lugol's give me a boost in brain activity- it's like going from lethargy to an interest in life.. More articulate, more energentic, an increase in heat in the body... Basically the activities that a hypothyroid patient looses out on. Investigate hypothyroidisim, you'll get a better picture of what
Iodine has helped with for me.
Rx meds require the use of the alkaline minerals that are used to produce GSH.. so basically taking them creates a competition in the body. You want alkaline minerals and nutrition for the activities that use GSH to maintain immune health..
But the body generally uses those minerals and nutritional elements to filter Rx'es out, because it recognizes them as foreign elements.
Yes, Rx'es have a specific chemical activity in the body, but you still have to remove them from your tissues after the job is done. GSH is one of those proteins that removes foreign elements!
Iodine as a nutritional supplement and details about people's experiences in using it are detailed here:

Like every protocol it has it's strengths and weaknesses, it's upsides and downsides.
