Re: Hyperinfection Hospice
I was sorta surprised she only took a swipe at you. I was going to warn you she'd probably be a bit defensive. They hate having their underlying motivations pointed out.
I don't know if you've seen that video of the three cats, one up on a footstool above the other cat's line of sight. It reaches down and swats one of the other two, and pulls his paw back up---the smacked cat then turns and smacks the other cat who was just walking along. I feel like the cat on the foot stool...she totally smacked the wrong cat. Not that my 'swat' was meant as anything more than a wake up call, albeit a bit harsh.
But she really didn't want to deal with me, I suspect, so smacked the safer target--you. You seemed to be a lot more caring and hence more vulnerable to her 'get even' snippiness.
Remember--she doesn't really want help for her situation--but I suspect just as with many abusees, she didn't plan on it getting this far and now is in over her head. But those old coping methods--even in the face of death (abuser or sickness, same---same, it's just the illness beating her up not an abuser), she just can't let them go. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I saw she smacked the wrong cat. Sorry.
