Re: SIBO, Candida and Fun Times!
Wow, thanks for the info on L. Salvarius. I've been taking it as a separate probiotic for a while now because I've heard good things about it. That PDF mentions a specific strain that is supposed to be the best. The one I'm taking doesn't list the strain number. I get it from RGarden. They often have it on sale for half price. Each capsule is 17 billion CFUs.

Bacillus Coagulans is a great probiotic candida fighter. I took a 5 billion CFU capsule and had profound die off. I recommend it highly. It isn't absorbed into the blood so it travels all the way through the intestines. It does not colonize in the gut though so it is completely eliminated in 3 days.
Saccharomyces Boulardii is another probiotic candida fighter from another yeast family. It does NOT form hyphal mycelia that pierce the gut mucosa and is considered safe. If you have an active candida infection however, any antifungals you take will also kill Saccharomyces Boulardii as well as candida. I recommend taking it at the very end of treatment when tapering off of the other antifungals.
Yes I avoid inulin and FOS. They can cause a candida flare-up. I am very pleased with Galactomune. I stopped buying lactulose. I'm healed and it was sort of expensive buying it from England. Oat bran is also a probiotic but while some sites says it's safe on the anti-candida diet, I'm not 100% sure. I eat it now that I'm cured.
I wish I had an answer for you about your joints popping. I am not sure if it has anything to do with candida or glucosamine. I just don't know. As long as it's not painful I would not worry too much about it.
I also wanted to let you know that I think perhaps the reason I got candida in the first place was because I was taking antacids daily (Zantac) which removed all acidity from my GI tract. I never did many
Antibiotics . Both SIBO and candida flourish in neutral or slightly alkaline environments. I take HCl supplements now (Betaine HCl). Acid in the stomach is there for a reason. It kills pathogens. Modern doctors thinks it serves no useful purpose and put lots of patients on antacids and even worse: proton pump inhibitors like Nexium and Prilosec which stop your gut from producing any acid.
I can already tell that you are going to make it in your battle against candida. You are already ahead of the game compared to me when I started researching it. It took me years to get a handle on it. I read up on it and experimented and even when I messed up, I learned from the mistake and persisted and finally I made it to home plate.
