Do you think food dehydrators are safe?

Are you familiar with Excalibur food dehydrator?

I'm trying to decide if I should get one.

However, its case interior is made of polycarbonate... only the trays are stainless steel and the outside.

bpa free polycarbonate plastic (case), trays and sheets are medical grade polypropalene - bpa free.

I'm afraid, there could be other toxins in plastic.

FDA approved does not guarantee quality. Any ideas on this?

Thank you.
