resistant starch the importance for microbiota.

I am confuced about the lack of information of resistant starches in nutrional balancing, at least i did not find much anything to even mention the importance of resistant starch to gut health.

Is this only in my head or is there more to it,like reasons why dr.Wilson dont seems to pay attention to it ? Maybe i just missed it.

I think that our ancestors could keep their gut healthy by eating foods rich in resistant starch as they give food to our microbiota. The levels have come down dramatically in modern typical diets in western world .

Wilson advises to stay away nightshade family , well potato is nightshade family and source of resistant starch.

I just want to be educated about the reasons if there is good reasons, i see our guts as the mother of our health,so would like to do everything to support gut health.
