Re: Too much ozone in air?Can someone explain?

Ozone created from "smog" is a different cycle than ozone produced from an ozone generator.

This due to NOX emissions and UV light.

NO2 + UV Light = NO + O
O + O2 = O3
N + O3 - Ozone = NO2 + O
And the cycle starts all over.

Hope that short explanation makes sense. But, what we are really discussing is SMOG and how this is a dangerous cycle that once it starts, does not stop easily. These cycles create high ozone levels and a general off-balance to the air we breathe. This is not healthy for a variety of reasons I will not get into here.

When ozone is used industrially or commercially it is produced from an ozone generator, used, and broken safely back down into oxygen.

Therefore ozone can indeed be both good and bad.

If used properly, ozone is an affective tool at destroying bacteria, odor, and pathogens. However, there is a general misunderstanding of ozone applications.
remember, ozone is easy to produce, challenging to use effectively.
