I totally agree, Trapper. I was in the 82nd Airborne Division from 1963 until 1966. Lots of racial strife with civilians but not in the Army. Around 40% of my unit was black. I never once saw any problem with race. Not unusual for the blacks and whites to go to bars together in downtown Fayetteville on their after hours.
Someone stands to gain something from keeping racial strife stirred up when there is really very little problem.
