Re: Iodine to blame?

some of your symptoms sound a lot like me, e.g. Iodine deficiency, estrogen dominant, adrenal insufficiency, modified Paleo diet (so only Sugar from carbs necessary to keep muscle & no wheat), athlete, weight gain, unable to lose weight, and distended stomach. i have all those in common with you.

if i were you, i'd have my thyroid and adrenals checked out. but i urge you to become educated yourself so you know how to recognize a bad dr.

check out my reply to user healthme23 from earlier today for more specific resources.

for me it seems, one undiagnosed issue after years led to many, many others.

i look for the root problem and address it. test to see if there is a problem. if yes, treat. if no, keep looking. retest to ensure treatment is working.

i adopted a way of eating others with my condition found successful and started treating my root problem. as a result i've lost >20 lbs effortlessly this year (no calorie counting, eating when i wish), and i'm continuing to lose.
