Why does salt for dehydration feel less effective?

Hey everyone,

I'm trying the water approach to my chronic depression. In the first few days of this attempt, my Depression disappeared temporarily. However, after I read on a Water Cure resource that taking 1/8th tsp of mineralized salt in with my every 16 ounces would best cure chronic dehydration, the according changes I made to my water intake failed to treat my Depression or improve my sleep as well as my water intake did without salt.
I urinate less, but somehow my urine--following a parasite cleanse--is dark.
Do you know why?

Thank you!
Dawn
