Chloride Competing with Iodine for Absorption in the Gut

Okay. Sorry, I have another question.

I have to eat every 3-4 hours or so due to hypoglycemia and adrenal issues.

I also have to eat ALOT of salt (I'm talking at least 2.5 teaspoons per day (but usually more). I eat about 1/2 teaspoon with each meal. I also consume calcium chloride and potassium chloride because my restricted diet is deficient in both minerals and I can't tolerate the citrate or other forms because the anion attached to the mineral screws up my blood sugar.

Currently, I have split my Lugol's 50mg dosage in half and try to take it exactly half way between each meal (like 2 hours or so after the last meal).

I am concerned with the chloride in the salt competing with the Lugol's and hindering absorption.

Would it be better to take the whole dosage at once and lower my salt intake for a meal so the Iodine is better absorbed, or should I continue splitting the dosage up?
