Re: To say God is sovereign...

I'm curious Vektek, do you believe that God is all-powerful on this Earth? And if God is all-powerful on this Earth, wouldn't that mean that man and Satan have no power? And if man and Satan have no power and God is all-powerful, that would mean that God and not man is the originator of sin and to me that is completely impossible.

I do believe that even though God has allowed man and Satan to have power on this Earth, that He is still in control and intervenes to guide things for the purpose of bringing His children back to Him. But to say that God is all-powerful on this Earth is to accuse God of being a sinner and the origin of sin. Surely it is man who desires to be separate from God that is the originator of sin and has the power to sin and create all death, disease and suffering in this world. I am not saying that God doesn't use death, disease and suffering when it will achieve His goals, certainly, He can, but He is also certainly not the cause of all death, suffering and disease, by in large that is the cause of man using his power to sin. God is only using the things of this world at times to try to keep things on track and guide people back to Him.
