Re: End of Day 6......Fell Off the Bandwagon
Rather than being negative and feeling like a failure, think about what you have accomplished. Six days on a rigorous cleansing program is pretty awesome. It took me months of doing short fasts, 1-3 days usually, before I could complete my first full term Master Cleanse. Six days your first time out is really good. Right now concentrate on maintaining the cleansing you did achieve. Work on improving your diet and try to eliminate all refined foods, especially those that are high in simple carbohydrates and trans fats. Eat plenty of fruit and vegetables, as many raw as you can eat. You will continue to cleanse at a much slower and gentler rate. When you are ready, you can try doing
The Master Cleanse or another cleansing fast with a body that is better prepared.
The sad fact is that many of us are so full of toxic waste that we cannot tolerate an intense cleanse. Even a very easy and mild fast like
The Master Cleanse is too much for our bodies to handle. When we get to feeling so awful we cannot function (and feeling like you are in a semi-coma certainly applies) then it is time to break the fast. The key is to continue to cleanse through a
healthy Diet and occasional fasting days until you are ready for a longer fast and more intense cleanse.
Here are some tips that might help you prepare for a fast in the future:
Follow a healthy vegetarian diet, an excellent book to read is "Eat To Live" by Joel Fuhrman MD. He is also a
Water Fasting expert. In "Eat To Live" he has a six week nutrient dense low calorie eating plan that is great for pre fast preparation and post fast easing into eating.
Try replacing your normal breakfast with raw fruit, especially citrus, or a glass of
The Master Cleanse drink. This will allow your body to continue its natural nighttime cleansing cycle on into the day. You can enjoy a normal healthy lunch, then have a raw salad and perhaps another drink of
Master-Cleanse lemonade at night. This is also an effective weight loss plan for short periods of time.
Try doing some bowel and
Liver Cleanses between fasting attempts. When you get the channels of elimination open and functioning properly then your body will be able to process the toxins dumped into the system when fasting more efficiently and much quicker.
Any kind of fasting is hard work both from a physical and an emotional point of view. The better prepared you are , the easier the fast will be. However, I still think you did very well going six days. Give yourself a pat on the back, continue to try and eat healthy and cleanse, and hopefully, we'll see you back soon.
