Re: Are generally hairloss cures successful?
I began to lose hair about 3 years ago, very gradually, from my temples, following the usual pattern for male pattern baldness. My hair also started greying.
I've been applying Bhringraj Hair Oil on my head every alternate night and leave it on while I sleep, and shampoo with an organic shampoo made of gooseberries, fenugreek and other such things in the morning.
The greying has not stopped, but it looks like the hair loss has stopped or is significantly less. I think I am still losing hair but very very slowly. So I think this has had some effect though it is not exactly a cure.
Bhringraj is the ayurvedic name for a herb. You can get the oil or get the herb and turn it into oil - a more cumbersome process. The brand I use is organic and sells only in India. It is called Mitti Se. But you should be able to find others that sell where you live - Biotique, maybe Khadi. But these aren't organic, which I assume makes a difference.
I would strongly recommend that you don't use shampoos. Herbal ones may be OK, but I think one needs to be careful there too. I am considering using only water to wash my hair.
Having said that, I do think that topical approaches are useful only to a limited degree. What matters is that you cleanse, have a healthy body, eat good food rather than what most people eat and in general expose your body and psyche to healthy atmospheres. Not easy in our world.
