Re: erythromelalgia - some questions for Hv
Hi Diana,
I realize your post is five years old, but I'm hoping you are still out there and can respond to me. I'm struck by how similar our conditions are. I too had the Mirena IUD and developed erythromelagia two months after having it removed. I too have an elevated ANA and my doctor suspects some auto immune condition and possibly Lupus. I did have all the antibodies tested, and only one, histone, can back positive. I myself suspect the Mirena triggered some kind of auto immune response. Besides the erythromelagia, other fall out from the Mirena has been a constant stream of skin problems. Dermititis around my mouth, Rosacea, eczema, and now some kind of weird allergic or hives reactions.
I'm really struggling with the erythromelagia. Right now I'm in the midst of a huge flare, and I know when I have to stand up I'm going to be in agony.
I'm just wondering how you are doing and what has come of all your post Mirena issues. Has anything helped you?? I would love to hear from you. I have 3 teenage kids at home and am barely functioning. I hope and pray there is hope.
Than k you,
Jennifer
