Re: Fully healed. How I did it. Detailed post.

Hi Healer96,

I have exfoliative cheilitis and posted about my condition many years ago in 2004.

I have been treating (not curing) my condition by applying a nightly moisturizer and having the skin partially slide off in the morning.

I just recently begun perusing the site again and have been encouraged by your case and also those using aloe vera and apple cider vinegar. I did want to stop using the aloe vera as it was initially very drying. I decided to incorporate a daily moisturizer and now the aloe vera is tolerable.

I have been using aloe vera and apple cider vinegar for the last two weeks and my lips feel better than they have in years. Not cured but definitely more mobility, less peeling.

Would you say your lips generally retain moisture, unlike longterm and danielmiller whose lips I believe tend to dry out?

Did you have a "crater" in the middle of your upper lip, and if so, is the crater gone? I have a crater and that is something that I would love to get rid of if possible. I will say it is certainly less pronounced since using aloe vera and acv.

I am thinking about incorporating the liquid bandage to my regimen, but have to admit, I am scared of side effects of applying it to my lips. You were applying this for 2 to 4 months? Any issues?

Secondly, did the liquid bandage you use affect your ability to talk and also was it clear after applied? The New Skin product is not available where I am currently; however, they do have Opsite spray. Do you, and others on this site, think this is an adequate substitute for the New Skin product?

Thanks for sharing your case.

I look forward to your response.
