Iodine deficiency

Hi all, a few years back I was on the anti-depressant citalopram, after being on the drug for around 18 months I noticed that my eyebrows had started to shed, as time went by they gradually got worse, my skin became very dry, I started to feel groggy and tired most days, then I noticed my beard had started to become very sparse and thin.

I've read several times that antidepressants contain high amounts of fluoride, which displaces iodine, slowing down the thyroid causing an Iodine deficiency.

Does it sound like the citalopram is the cause of this? and could I now be Iodine deficient due to the fluoride in the antidepressants? Would taking an Iodine Lugols supplement help me?

I've heard great things about iodine but I'm not entirely sure how to take it.Thanks in advance for any help or advice.
