Well some of the meds are systemic meaning they can get stuff outside the gi tract like albendazole, praziquantel, ivermectin, triclabendazole, etc... I imagine plenty of us have got late treatment due to ignorance of doctors and having to treat ourselves. It kind of goes from thinking you probably don't have this stuff, then seeing stuff in the bathroom, going to doctors and most of them being useless then figuring out how to treat ourselves, for plenty of people anyway.
