Magnets, cats, iodine and mange

< i>shloooooop onoes, there go the magnets again!

Neodyniums are so much fun to play with... I disassembled hubby's magnetic cannon toy to get at the good strong cylindrical magnets in there. They're now taped like a mad scientist's experiment on the sides of my strong-lugol's dropper bottle, and it looks like a funky amputee!

I've gotten more bold with experimentation, too. 1 drop Lugols 30% in distilled water with added potassium chloride... Next morning, I can't tell if the Lugol's color is even still in there. So the next day, I add a dropperful of lugols! It gets darker.. It stays darkish.. It's lighter in the morning.

OK... So 2 days ago I dumped 50ml of Lugols 30% into the same container.

It snap-crackles-and-pops! 1 day later, I add more potassium chloride and swirl. The potassium chloride keeps seeking to the bottom. I swirl more. It's cloudy. I add more distilled water... The rice crispies effect comes back!

The mouth of the bottle is open. If I can get the free chlorides and unreacted Iodine to evaporate, just fine.
I am herpaderp on chemistry, just so you know. The year I had it in high school I had just had my first root canal, 2 years on anti depressants and 1 major period of NiMH style suppression of an insomnia.

I learn now, with gusto.

Btw, we adopted a new cat from a home heavily infested with mold and neglect. First thing she got? A rubdown with borax, dilute Lugols 5% on the sores and near furless spots on her back, and some good food. 2 hours later her does were tightening up and pink fluid showing up in droplets.. She got 100mcg selenomethionine in her dinner. Hubby told me she was lapping up a little of my dead Sea Salt s water from the footpath pan!
I used Butyric acid (drops) on the skin, but it hurt, poor baby. She hopped into the kitty litter pan (we use just pure Danish calcium bentonite) , so I grabbed some and sprinkled it on the poor frantic dear, and then some water droplets. She calmed down right away!

After the butyrate soaked in, she was very sleepy and relaxing again, so she spent 20 mins in my lap dozing peacefully. Butyrate is a big help in skin issues and strengthening epithelial cells and increasing gaba production/tightening gut wall. And inhibiting Candida!
A component of ghee.. Likely I should just make some and give it to her.

She had had a year and a half with a woman who has been paranoid delusional.. Sad story. Cold apartment with fungus on the walls, no cuddles... She is desperate for cuddles and -loved- getting rubbed down with a washcloth dampened with dead Sea Salt water, warm.
Her sores have been gently massaged with a layer of rose oil skin creme (essential oils) for the night, and tommorrow just planning to watch and clean her with a mix recipe from earthclinic.com (source http://www.earthclinic.com/mobile/pets/cat-mange-treatment-home-remedies/Ted's-Mange-Remedy/).. 3tblsp borax, 2cups warm water, 1/2 cup hydrogen peroxide, on a washcloth. She loves getting stroked.

She is very thirsty, but good.. And vocal! Does look like mange, one is a round, crusted sore.. She's been stressed, she protested with a Mowrp! when I got up from the floor (hubby and I were powering and talking with her in the bathroom, where she is staying until she is better and can join our tomboys (2others). I've never had a cat act like her before! She thinks she is human.
She was delivered here in a backpack... And was purring. I kid you not.
