how long can I steam garlic while still maintaining its healing properties (allicin)?

Greetings!

I have come across many google searches regarding healing and Garlic that route to this forum, so I thought I'd post a question in regards to my experience with Garlic. Briefly, I am working to heal my leaky gut, and subsequent Histamine Intolerance , Candida overgrowth and bad case of eczema. I have read many articles and accounts on how Garlic can be very beneficial in this process- in particular I mince the garlic (at least 1/3 of a head at a time), let it stand for 10-15 minutes so the Allicin can take effect, and then steam-cook it briefly for 3 minutes. I had read that you can cook garlic up to 15 minutes with minimal loss in Allicin... my question is weather or not steaming (for some reason or another) might be an exception? In other words: will I lose the benefit of the Garlic/Allicin by steaming it for 3-4 minutes? The "edge" of the garlic is completely taken away, which is why I steam it in the first place. otherwise I'd just eat it completely raw...

any experience and insight is greatly appreciated!
thanks
Z
