Eh, what?

Was that a regular doctor, and what kind of test would that be? Or something "naturopathic"?

Because it makes no sense. Your ECF (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extracellular_fluid) needs to have a VERY specific concentration of sodium, potassium and chloride ions. If you donÖt have that you WILL know - because you will find yourself in the ER right away!

So how can a test of your "salt" in blood - i.e. sodium and chloride ions - possibly be "too high" and you live to tell us about it? Your story sounds very suspicious. My first guess is you've been duped into paying for placebo tests.

What OPs point is has nothing to do with blood concentration levels of sodium (and other ions) - your body keeps it constant!

What happens when you eat too much or too little salt has no effect on blood concentrations - but it DOES have a big effect on "water management". If there is not enough salt in the diet your body has to take measures to ensure it loses as little as possible, in urine first of all. And vice versa, if there is too much it has to get rid of it.

Which can explain OPs issues - but your "salt test" makes no sense at all: Blood concentrations of ions are CONSTANT (or you are a case for the ER and possibly the morgue).
