Re: Hair Mineral Analysis...Need Help Understanding Test
I'll add more later, as i'm pushed for time right now, but just wanted to say that oral P in comparison to cream P topical absorption are completely different mechanisms for how the body gets P.
Oral P usually is high dose anyway - as the liver has to process it - which diminishes the dose by up to 90%.
Also the oral P on the market tends to be synthetic progesterone, which is believed to behave on a receptor level differently to bio-identical P.
I would imagine also that the oral P does store more, than the topical cream because of the liver metabolism route it has to go through.
With the creams, either P or E, i have felt the effect within the hour....E gets gobbled up quickly in me and after 2 hours of a low dose, i then get low estrogen attack of hot flush, dizziness, nausea, intense sweating.
So the body, in a deficient state would 'use up' the hormone and not have a tendency to store it.
With P cream - felt the effects within the hour - yet the symptoms i had of headaches, pelvic pains, urinary incontinence - they lasted for quite a few days even after quitting the cream.
It's stated over and over online about P supplementation - it's common for women to get put off of using it because it's hard to find the right dose.
Many start off low dose and get symptoms i describe.
It's recommended to have quite a high dose (cream) to get beyond the symptoms.
I haven't experimented on that yet as i know i have estrogen deficiency and without having that on hand i would make my P dominance much worse with high cream P doses!
I too, used the pill in early years, and it was a wild ride!
I was so moody, loads of acne, sleepy all the time, no drive at all, brain fog...etc.
I'm sure the synthetic hormones are really screwing up women.
It's good you're doing a month long hormone panel - it's best if you've been off of all hormone supplements for around a month to get a clearer idea of your bodies natural hormone-making ability.
If you haven't been off hormone supplements for long, factor that in when you get your results.
