Re: Hair Mineral Analysis...Need Help Understanding Test
Haha!
There must be some ED going on b/c my BF and I joke that I am most in the mood on certain days (these are usually when estrogen are at it's lowest).
I agree that sometimes T left me feeling flat but adding E definitely did the trick for me in the libido department.
That's interesting that like me you were also progesterone dominant and it took you 10 days after stopping for your period to arrive. Good to know! Most textbooks (and I'm sure my ND) will say that's because estrogen delays or prolongs your cycle. But I don't think that it's true for me! Could P store if I am on oral P instead of cream? My hair test def said my zinc (P) was higher than my copper (E).
All I know is when I was on E - the viscosity of my flow was more normal looking (like in the old days before AF hit me). When I am P dominant or take P, the flow is very light.
Also when I was on P, I became very down and melancholy as well as anxious. Forget libido...everything was flat to me.
I am only starting to feel better now that I have stopped the progesterone. But we'll see what happens this cycle.
Growing up, I was flat chested and a little more weight around the upper thighs but not all that much in relation to other girls. I would have been considered very thin. I also didn't get the sore boobs that girls complain about before their cycles started.
In comparison, I had killer cramps and bad acne.
Acne wasn't so much of a problem in the first half of my cycle as it was in the later half. My mom is Italian so there was lots of pasta eating. That's what makes me think my body is not a fan of P. It either creates insulin resistance or down regulates somehow to T. I thought that without sufficient E, that P and T were the cause of
Acne and oily skin and hair...which I def suffered from in last part of cycle but not sure by what mechanism.
What I can't figure out for the life of me...is why...even if I am a little ED now...my body goes off the rails when I bring in P. The usual course of events is....feel little fatigued, bad sleep...dr adds P...I go into Stage 1 wired AF syndrome.
My guess is that as my body is sliding towards AF, it starts to feel stress and then adding P just makes the free cortisol in my body super active.
I am now doing a month long hormone panel test. If if the test shows a little ED...I will not touch P until my adrenals have healed...if ever. I have had way to much bad experience on P. And I have been on various dosages from very low to very high...same result.
I am at least grateful that the hair test shows I was P dominant which can partly explain why I felt like crap for the past 3 months.
