Re: what problem you got with the law?
Yes, Refreshed, that is what I mean.
As far as loving everyone as we love Christ, yes I do mean that as I said it. I don't mean the love of attachment that causes us to favor one person over another. I mean the same pure love that can only come from Christ in the first place.
Jesus said 'Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.'
So if we love everyone unconditionally, we are also doing that to Christ, so I would hope that we would love them as we would Christ.
My personal view on love (just my opinion, not scriptural) is that there is only one love and it comes from Christ. All variations of love still come from Christ but they are imperfect, such as romantic love, love of a mother for her child, or even the love of friendship. They all come from the same source, that is Christ, but they are all skewed by our selfish need for something from the other person or the favor we are placing on that person over God and other people. In this way, we in the flesh, distort the pure love of Christ, which is only one. There is only one love, not many different loves. The one love, which is Christ is distorted by man to create our many different versions of love (which is not love itself). Since this is just my opinion and I am fully aware that I could be wrong, I don't think there is any need to debate this point, but I would be glad to hear your thoughts on the matter.
