Have you tried the supplements that contain BOTH L-argnine and L-citruline? Amazon.Com carries several brands, I take this one:

The doctors who discovered Nitric Oxide recommend taking both at one time. Another alternative is to load up on the foods that boost Nitric Acid, especially beet root juice, which sent my nitric oxide soaring as measured with saliva test strips. Did you take too much L-Argenine? Dr. recommends not more than 5 grams, but less than 1 gram works for me.
