Problems with Food

Dr Jeff,
I've been mainly on a protein-only diet for over a year (ketogenic) and although I haven't been very strict about it, I still eat 90% animal sources daily.
My problem is that I've been trying to incorporate more variety again by eating different vegetables, etc., but my body is gaining weight each time I do along with major had pains that keep me up through the night.
I'm making many different things so I don't get bored, such as roasted veggie dips, baked yams, and so on. They all taste great and are a nice change from an all-protein life, but I feel like I should go back to all protein to get this extra "veggie/starch" weight off and get rid of the stomach pain.
I've never experienced this prior to the keto eating and am wondering if I messed my body up somehow and need to steer clear of all other foods for awhile..?
Please let me know what you'd advise..
