Re: Why is this left out of the Ebola discussion in mass media?
Well that is their conclusion, which is wrong. Synthetic toxins are not the same as Organic natural one's based solely on the mode they are created by and from. This is why they are defined differently...because they are different.
PNAS is a peer review journal.
Peer review is not scientific.
Science is based on truth, not majority rules.
The guiding principles were established by George Ellery Hale in 1914. He was backed by the Rockefeller Foundation.
"Although astronomy never represented a major area of funding for the Rockefeller Foundation (RF), one of the largest single RF grants, for the construction of the telescope on Mt. Palomar, was awarded in this field. The grant was originally made through the Rockefeller-funded International Education Board (IEB), and the twenty-year-long project was later taken over by the RF when the IEB was closed."

The Rockefeller Foundation is based on Petrochemical industry...creators of Synthetic chemicals, hardly an un-biased organization.
