I agree.

If I were a jerk, I could go to a forum and sabotage it, by finding 5 or 6 lonnnng threads from the past, and just reply to each one, that would make the current front page of the forum look like ancient history to new viewers, lol :) Fortunately, I have better things to do, but some others.....
