I take both.

It really depends on how much stomach acid you produce. If you have low stomach acid, taking more HCL will benefit you. But if you have leaky gut, repairing the gut with stuff like l-glutamine and slippery elm should take priority or else the HCL will make your stomach burn. Also take HCL with meals that contain protein. As for digestive enzymes, if yours contain cellulase or hemicellulase, taking the digestive enzyme with meals that contain veggies may do more harm than good because the cellulose gets broken down into simple Sugar and could feed the bad bacteria instead of the good flora.
