Betain HCL or digestive enzymes ?

Hi guys,

I am chronically bloated for a very long time now.. just recently I looked into taking Betain HCL or digestive enzymes. I have done a lot of research on these, but was wondering if it is more beneficial to take just Betain HCL with pepsin or a complete digestive enzymes formula.

Based on this article:
http://www.houston-enzymes.com/learn/articles/to-betaine-or-not-to-betaine.php

good HCL production should naturally stimulate the production of digestive enzymes in the pancreas too. This sounds much better than supplementing with enzymes, as it is not natural for the body.

On the other hand (regarding the same article) HCL doesn't really support digestion of the foods.. it mostly breaks down the proteins only.

The digestive enzymes that I have contain HCL as well, but only in small amounts (200mg).
Right now, I am on 4 capsules of Betain HCL 650 mg.

I don't want to take neither of them permanently, but supposedly, by taking Betain HCL the body can re-learn to make enough itself. I am not sure if this is the case for digestive enzymes.

So my question is... would you recommend taking just the HCL or the digestive enzymes?

Thanks
