TMG

That is interesting about the WW2 and beet consumption. Beets was also one of the storagable vegetables; so they had a minimum of vit C to get them through the winter. Beets, cabbage, carrots and potatoes; staple food for 100` of years in the Northern countries.

TMG; Shows how different supplements may work for some people; others not. I tried TMG 3-4 years ago when I was adressing my digestion problems, but had no effect of it.

I do love red beets though; picled in particular. I dont now how reliable this test are but interesting; if your pee is pink after eating red beets, it is a sign of a poor functioning stomach acid.

"For example, if a person genetically has a stronger acidity in their stomach, they may well break the compound down effectively and never experience beeturia. In another interesting suggestion, beeturia has been potentially linked to being an early indicator of haemochromatosis (over-accumulation of iron in the body)."
-the latter is of importance for men in particular, as haemochromatosis is one of the causes for heart and liver diseases etc in western countries.
