Antioxidants & iodine

I've tried searching the forums but can't find the answer... I know vitamin c and selenium are to be taken hours apart from Iodine because they're antioxidants... and Iodine is an oxidant.
but what about ALA when it's taken 12 hours before/after iodine?
I wanted to try ALA again, but ease into it to avoid blood Sugar crash again, I only take ALA at night before bed and only once a week. But I'm noticing that if I take ALA on a Wednesday night at 11pm, I don't feel ANY effects of Iodine taken for the next couple days (like last time) and I mean zero effects. I don't even catch a faint iodine scent on myself when I first get into the shower like I normally do... and I'm back to freezing feet again. I'm not understanding how 1 capsule of an antioxidant is still active in my body for 4 days and wiping out the iodine. I guess FEELING the effects isn't as important as knowing it's in there doing it's job, but there's no way to be sure.
Does this happen to anyone else?
