Is iodine reducing the effectiveness of antibiotics?

Well, it's sad but I have to take them.
Tried to avoid it as much as I could but my Dr said my ear drum is close to perforating and that for a middle ear infection I need Antibiotics . The pain was so severe I took them and I'm worried about not hearing on my left side.

I would like to know if I can still take my daily Lugols 40 drops? I have so far, for the last three days.

I'm on Biaxin XL 550mg of seven days (CLARITHROMYCIN).

This is my first ear infection and I'm almost 40. I feel like I'm a failure, isn't this a kids infection? I should have been able to fight it. I hope the hearing loss is temporary and that I will be able to repopulate my gut flora with diversity. So, is Lugols ok while on Antibiotics ?
