Yep.. common core is k-12 and 3rd grade up - all they do all year is prepare for the PSSA and keystone exams.
The most frustrating thing is high school algebra. If my 10th grader misses some live lessons and he gets confused with factoring equations and i show him, even if the answers are correct, they will give him a 0 but have him do it over THEIR way of teaching ... which I guess is better than a 0, but it makes no sense. Who cares HOW he did it... the answers are the same! Common core dumbs everything down, but complicates the process at the same time.
My 3rd grader had to take a math test today again... the one that the rest of the class took yesterday because she can't pass 3rd grade by doing 7th grade math :/
