Re: Anti-Anxiety Meds?
The worse AFS gets, the worse it gets. Response to previously minor stressors can get exaggerated.
I would personally not go to a psychiatrist. They don't understand your condition. They can give you meds...one forum member had good success with Lyrica to lower anxiety and relax. I dont see most meds as a solution but a "hack" to help you get by until you can get your nervous system under control....which will require nutrition, yoga, meditation, and mental rewiring effort.
I understand your are a working mom and don't have the luxury of time or time off...but try to make incremental steps: 1 hours less computer or TV, 15 mins of yoga on YouTube, turn TXT notifications off on your phone so you only see them when you consciously decide to check...
..then gradually increase as the benefits become crystal clear.
I personally would not be going to a primary care physician for any kind of answers or treatment.... Unless I had a very specific request: run this lab test, prescribe me this sleep med.
They don't have any answers. They don't look for root causes. They weren't trained to handle problems except with meds...and AFS requires a different approach to successfully reverse.
You are in your own unless you get under the care of a handful of highly experienced specialists. I wouldn't listen to any physican except an adrenal fatigue specialist or someone who has significantly recovered.
