You can do it!
The first two days are very hard and the worst to get over the snack attacks. I have done other fasts before this and found nighttime to be the worst time. Probably the same for most people.
A few hints....
First, give yourself a break. This is radical to many people, especially if your eating habits are not good for you. Much like any type of change, your body is going into overdrive trying to compensate. Realize that, and prep yourself for the worst....you might surprise yourself!
Trying to recognize the pitfalls ahead of time and mentally prepare yourself for them (preparing dinner for others, TV with food ads, times of the day you typically snack) might help in advance when they happen.
MAKE SURE you are drinking enough! This means the lemonade and water. I found that I could drink less of the lemonade during the day (busy time) and 'stock up' to drink the majority during the snacking times.
You need to have enough syrup in one day that totals AT LEAST 1,200 calories, probably more. If you don't, your body goes into starvation mode and causes you to want those other types of calories intakes (solid food.)
In additon, drinking water (many will recommend half your body weight in ounces. I completely agree.) will also help fill your stomach and stave off that snacking need.
I hope this helps. Sometimes we aren't ready for it and have to start small. My first one was 5 days to get a baseline....and I barely made that. But, the results were wonderful and I look forward to early Sept. when I can do it again, with a better outlook.
