I had all the classic digestive issues, brain fog, depression, eye floaters, toe fungus, etc.

Went to a naturopath and she suspected it was a fungus issue and from there I researched the web religiously and went on the diet. Went through the classic die off, fatigue, emotionless period where you are devoid of any happiness but at the same time you notice your condition isn't worsening and your symptoms are slowly going away so you stick with it best you can.

I never even bothered to see a doctor after my visit with the naturopath being as though they didn't help me at all for the year I spent trying to figure out what the hell was wrong with my stomach. It was always "tests are fine, must be stress" bla bla bla.

For me personally, yeah, the more "candida" came out, the better I got and continue to get.
