i think if you walk into a doctor with some symptoms, and you tell the doctor that you are known to have low thyroid, they will say 'ok then, those symptoms are from the thyroid.' at least to a certain extent. so while i don't know the truth about whether hiv causes aids, and i don't pretend to, i also don't believe what the doctors came up with either, necessarily. any kid can get an ear infection, any kid can die. whether its aids or not, i think, will have wait until the parents get their own independent examiner. maybe then some non-partisan analysis can be done of the child's body. but.... even if they find the antibodies that are referred to as HIV, that STILL doesn't mean thats what killed the child.
this is a poorly timed death for the 'hiv doesn't cause aids' movement, but it doesn't necessarily reflect the truth or falsehood of the movement itself. I think the oreo effect (its either all black or all white) is rearing its head here.
