(pernicious) anemia & fasting
Dear all,
I have just got back the results my blood test, sample taken just before I started KF+LF+(MC+SWF) and 1.5 months after I followed a 13 days clark´s
parasite course. These are the parameters out of range:
Hemoglobine 10.9 g/dl [12-15]
Hematocrit 35.3 % [36-43]
Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobine 25.4 pg [27-32]
CHCM 30.6 g/dl [31.5-34.5]
RDW 16.6 % [11.2-15.2]
Mean Plaquete Volume 8.8 fl [9-13]
Eosinophiles 5.9 % [1-5]
Iron 18 ug/dl [50-170]
Iron Saturation Index 4.00 [> 16]
Hemolisys Index 4 mg/dl [> 50]
Total Colesterol 205 mg/dl [<200]
Ferritine 5 ng/ml [10-120]
B12 Vitamine 171 pg/ml [221-911]
Glucose 105 mg/dl [74-106] --> within range, but a bit high being the sample taken beore breakast?
I havent yet been able to talk to my doctor, butI had a look and it seems as if I might have (Pernicious) Anemia or Iron deficit or both. It would make sense not only with the blood results, but also with my symptoms: after finishing a
Master-Cleanse 3 years ago I suffered from diharrea & inflmation on my abdomen, specially when drinking liquids. I tested positive for blastocistis hominis & blood in stools. i was given flagyl -metronizadole- 750mg during 11 days. I tested positive again for both blood in stools & blasto. Ater a few days I was retested and it was negative (?). My digestive system was completely screw up after the treatment, and has been since then. The drugs killed all flora inside me, even loosing my periods during 3-4 months.
I have tried to repopulate my flora taking milk & water kefir dayly (3 or more liters), taking probiotics VSL#5, eating lately a raw diet -only salads for the last year, but previous year I tried only meat-. My periods have got very very heavy, bleeding lightly for a week before it, and then very very heavily for 2 days and lightly for 2-3 more days. I dont know what was first if the chiken or the egg: if my anemia is due to the heavy periods or if myperiods got heavy after flagyl killing my flora. But the thing is that I got this blood results , just while I am embarked in fasting, althhough the sample was taken before starting it. I am doing a Minerl Water fast, although I have eventually taken some glasses with maple sirup+lemon+cayene pepper, and I am doing SW almost every day, whcih is the higher point of the day as it is when I feel better. I have done over 10 fasts (MC) prevously and never had a problem -felt very energetic-, but I am struggling a bit with this one: I crave food, specially seafood, fish, meat, liquorize,...I´m on day 13, and days 4, 5, 8 & 9 I binged on some of the following: liquorize, creps, black olives and muffins as I paniqued as my period was delayed, but I am since then back to strict fast with
SWF (Salt-Water-Flush) after finishing a very heavy period again -and with very intense headaches even in the middle o the night-.
My questions are:
1) I am jus wondering whether I should continue or i should stop it, or maybe switching to a OJ+Brewers Yeast fast to boost my B12 & detox my liver or to spinach, carrots,.. juicing. I feel quite tired and metimes dizzy, but I am trying to keep going. Anyone got experience fasting in these circustances? I would like to hear pros and cons of keep going as well as of stopping. From what i have been
able to gather, if b12 & iron are lacking due to malabsortion, fasting and
SWF (Salt-Water-Flush) might help to solve the problem. On the other hand, I am just wondering if the
SWF (Salt-Water-Flush) might erode also my good bacteria from my intestines. Also, I was thinking of doing P&B shakes starting on the first re-feeding days for about 10 days: would this be advisable still with the B12 & Iron deficit? I am concerned psyllum might erode intestine lining and thereore washing away good bacteria as well as bad.
2) I have an appointment with my Dr to see the bloodtest results. What would you recommend me to raise at the appointment? Further tests to discern the type of anemia? which ones? Malabsortion test? Which test could be advisable to discern what is the origin o my heavy bleeding periods (endometriosis, uterine fibroids,..?) Also advice on options of treatment very welcomed
3) Whether I continue or I stop, I will do a
Liver-Flush after. And I am considering to start a meat-based diet: liver, seafood, etc kind of atkins diet in order to restore levels o B12 & IRon, and when retested i levels have normalized then switch to a vegetarian diet as it is my natural taste. Any advice on this?
4) I read in a book that fasting on water might acidify the digestive system, and it is adviceble to add a pinch of bicarbonate soda from time to time to alkalinize, is this true?
Thanks for any advice/ experiences in similar circustances,
