Re: ilovecocopops: Albendazole, Herx Reaction, Liver Issues, Milk Thistle, & NAC
It's crazy isn't it? Before taking meds, I only knew about tapeworms, so when I started seeing all this stuff coming out with meds, I had no idea where to even begin. One doctor would say roundworm and the next one would say tapeworm.. the lab would say neither, so that added to the confusion and panic. The good news was that most of the wormy looking stuff actually isn't worms... it's a combo of mucous, lymph, products of digestion, yeast, who knows what - unidentifyable build up. So, take comfort in the fact that it's out of you. Also, I noticed that dead roundworms will sometimes have a flat appearance.. that makes it confusing to ID too.
I had a positive test for whipworm and they suck.. that's what you feel moving and they thrash like crazy... and mine were very hard to kill. It took a month of repeating meds and enemas and flushes.
I had much success with Valbazen sheep drench albendazole from valley vet online and its cheap.
Doctors really aren't much help.. they don't have access to top secret meds, so waiting around only increases your chances for a worse infection. Do you have a chest/lung infection too or is it just intestinal?
Check out ICU's protocols...
Not sure where to get biltricide, but most people get aquarium powder and use that.
If you have photos, post them! Then you can get a better idea of what you're up against.
