Re: Pumpkin Seeds
I ate pumpkin seeds every day for nutritional reasons for half a year or so. About 50 - 100 g every day. A lot of the time it was up to 50 g in one setting. It didn't do jack for my
parasites (I kind of suspected I might have parasites, but I wasn't fully aware of it at the time).
You have to use unhulled seeds, here's PFAF's *sourced* entry on Pumpkin seeds:
"The seeds are mildly diuretic and vermifuge[7, 88, 254]. The complete seed, together with the husk, is used to remove tapeworms. The seed is ground into a fine flour, then made into an emulsion with water and eaten. It is then necessary to take a purgative afterwards in order to expel the
Tapeworms or other
parasites from the body[7]."
As far as the dosage goes, I remember reading somewhere you have to eat around 200 g (half a pound) of them for it to work.
Anywho, getting back to my story, I'm really into foraging and one day I made myself a large salad where half of the greens were Black Alder leaves. The next day I passed a whole tapeworm. Let me tell you, I was pretty surprised. I looked Black Alder up on PFAF and it turns out its leaves are listed as a vermifuge and parasiticide, but they only say that is was used for scabies and lice. No mention of internal parasites.
I followed that up with praziquantel and albendazole just to be sure. After the albendazole I passed a bunch of small roundworms, really thin, about 1
cm long.
After a week, I followed that up with a cocktail of ground melon seeds (they are supposed to work just like pumpkin seeds), a teaspoon of
Wormwood , a teaspoon of ground ivy, and two teaspoons of ground cloves. I passed some more of those small roundworms.
After another week, I followed that up with albendazole. This time around I didn't see anything suspicious. Finally.
Anyway, the massive doses of prazi I swallowed took care of any flukes I might have had, but I have to do some more research on flukes and find out what kind of plants work on them. But at least when it comes to
Tapeworms and roundworms, I think I've found my go-to natural dewormers :) I know I'll be doing a cleanse at least once a year.
Good luck!
