I've read two books on Iodine and it can take up to 5 years to get enough Iodine into the body/organs. The thyroid takes in Iodine at small amounts so this is why it takes so long for some. You can take an iodine urine test to see how much iodine your body is retaining and excreting. Make sure to take enough selenium and magnesium as well. Your levels of major minerals can be seen on a hair analysis test. I have been on iodine for a year and still have low thyroid symptoms as well. I have heard that the body does better having iodine painted vs orally. Don't give up taking it unless you develop hyperthyroid symptoms.
