How can you tell when your liver is flushing?

I attempted a Liver Flush once with olive oil and OJ but didn't notice anything happening besides the olive oil making me want to throw up :/

How long after ingesting the mix does your liver flush? Also, I don't have a gallbladder... so does that affect the flush?
Can coconut oil or other methods be used instead? That olive oil was terrible :(
