Something That puzzles me.
Great post, you sound like the kind of person that I could talk to for hours about all of these things.
Why do people refer to God as 'He'? I can't speak for others on this forum, but for myself I refer to God as He, simply because He is described as God the Father. There are other names, the great I AM and many others. I believe that He is described as the Father due to the fact that He is the origin of everything and hence the Father of all. We relate the word Father to male characteristics, but certainly the actual God the Father does not realistically have male or female characteristics and is transcendent and beyond all. So I refer to Him as He simply going along with our lowly human understanding of the Father as a male force, with full understanding that God cannot really be describes as He, She, It, or any other word that us little humans could think up.
Had to look up the word anthropomorphic, I'll probably forget what it means tomorrow. But yes, I agree with you completely that it is only the religion of man who has tried to create God in the image of man, instead of the other way 'round. Fortunately, it seems that most people that post on this forum do understand that God is not a white man in space with a white beard, as we have had discussions on this topic. But yes, many Christians have falsely created God in the image of man.
'Every day our bodies turn water into "wine" (blood) which is vital to our existence. How does this happen... It is a miracle pure and simple. No biologist or chemist can understand it fully'
I like that, our bodies turning water into wine. Biologists can explain this for the most part as far as generally what is happening, how our body creates red blood cells and what-not, but that doesn't make it any less of a miracle, let alone the millions of other miracles occurring in our bodies every second.
