Chaz, most christians believe that God is Love, Spirit, Light and Invisible, just like scripture says.
Jesus was in human form when He was born of a virgin, and died just like anyone of us will one day. His spirit rose, but He had not received His glorified body yet when the first person saw Him. Mary Magdalene did not recognize Him but thought He was a gardener. Could He materialize? Could He use the gardener's body for a moment? I don't know...it doesn't say.
He told Mary Magdalene not to touch Him because He had not gone to the Father as of yet. Later that day He appeared to the Disciples and then 8 days later to see them again where we read that Thomas touched what seemed to be a solid body. It was more likely His glorified body because He went to the Father. It wasn't just a wispy spirit but a special spiritual body that would live forever.
He spoke to hundreds of people about the Kingdom of God and they saw him as He ascended into the clouds while everyone watched on the 40th day.
I don't think anyone can point to exactly where heaven is...it's a spiritual world. We will either go somewhere else to be with Him when we die, or He will bring the new home to us at some point after creating all things new...either way, I'm looking forward to seeing our special place. :)
