Hmm interesting theory, but I'm Asian and I eat tons of seafood so I don't think I'm deficient in iodine.

As for using Iodine as an antifungal to solve the candida problem, I did try doing the protocol (I took 5 drops of Lugol's 2% every day) but it couldn't get rid of my yeast infection. It only temporarily suppressed the thrush. The disappointing thing is the white coating on my tongue came back and thicker than before after I stopped taking Lugol's. :/ Oh and I had to stop because of the scary experience I had. I don't know if this has happened to anyone else but I was doing jumping jacks when the oversaturated Iodine in my thyroid started moving around which triggered my reflexes to cough but I couldn't cough it out because it wasn't in my lungs. I felt like I was choking on my own thyroid. I dropped the protocol immediately after. Tweet
